Verify a license
Every ArtSeal license is a record: which artist, which licensee, which terms, which committed training set, and when. Paste a license ID to read it.
What a record can tell you
- The artist and licensee as they appear on the record, and the hashed identifiers either party can recompute for themselves.
- The tier, the terms accepted at checkout, and the price paid.
- The training-set commitment the artist made — a Merkle root over their own files, which stay on their machine.
- The attestation on record, and the hash of the exact wording that was accepted.
- Whether the record has been anchored in a public Cardano transaction, and whether that transaction still carries exactly what the record says — checked against the chain when you load the page, with the transaction linked so you can repeat the check without us.
A listing ID (ASC-…) resolves too: that is the record behind a training-set commitment, and every license page links to the one it was issued against.
What it can’t
No record can establish that an artist owns the artwork a model was trained on — ownership is a fact about the world, not about files. ArtSeal verifies what is mechanically checkable and records the rest as attestations: statements a named person made, on a date, bound to specific bytes.
Check a training set yourself
The commitment on a listing is produced by the ArtSeal manifest tool, which hashes a folder in your browser. Its policy forbids the browser from making any network request, so the files never leave the machine.
